Welcome Parents

Dear My City School Parents,

First of all thank you! Thank you for the courage that it has no doubt required to take part in this adventurous undertaking. As a culture we are in the midst of an education revolution in which parents, students, and teachers alike are longing for something more from their educational institutions. No longer is it enough to let one of the most important experiences of a young person’s life be watered down by the mechanical and impersonal nature of many formal schools. We are all here because we are in search of something better. To us learning is an adventure, one that should be defined by joy, personal connection, and community.   To us learning is not only an enterprise of the intellect but of the emotional and spiritual self as well. This year will be just that—a joyful and personal adventure, holistically challenging and community oriented. Words are not enough to express our excitement for this coming year. We have busily been making our preparations and look forward with tremendous anticipation to sharing this learning experience with you and your children. Again, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

Most Sincerely,

My City School Instructional Team

Great to see the new classroom and be a part of this launch. The excitement of parents to have such a dedicated and capable teaching team is only surpassed by the excitement of our 6th graders who know they are embarking on a special experience. Thanks for the August push - and here's to September and beyond!
